Blogging

So what is the big deal about blogging? I have never really gotten into blogging and have always thought that it was just another internet fad like facebook or twitter. Now that I know more about blogging I see how wrong I was. Simply put, I believe that blogs equal freedom. Back in the days before 24 hour news and the internet, if you wanted news you had to buy print media like magazines or newspapers. The information in print media is easily controlled by others, so you only got to read what someone in charge felt was important. I don't really know if the US government used to control the media, but governments in other countries certainly did. Now that anyone can log onto the internet and blog about whatever they want, that control is gone. People can access loads of ideas from anywhere in the world that has the internet. This is my first ever blog so I don't really know much about how all this works, but something that I think will be challenging is finding stuff to write about that other people care about. Finding out about your audience and then writing stuff about what they think is interesting has got to be challenging.

  1. Hi I am Barbara your classmate from ARCC. I agree that the freedom to express your opinion is the best option of blogging. Hopefully we can find interesting stuff to write about. Good luck

  2. Not trying to be harsh or anything but do you truly see the benifit of blogging? I understand it is a huge part of this class but don't forget to be yourself because that is what will make your blog magnificent.

  3. Freedom = blogging. Yes -- that is the beauty of the net. Of course, freedom brings with it responsibility and accountability; another benefit of the net is that accountability is instantaneous -- the time it takes for readers to leave comments that can praise, question or damn the post.
